It is without doubt that the Spaniard superstar is Manchester United’s main summer transfer target, but after having two bids rejected for the midfielder, he looks set to remain at Barcelona for the foreseeable future, or as Arsene Wenger has claimed, at least for one more season.

When asked for his thoughts on the move, Wenger answered: “What I know is that Fabregas will stay one more year at least in Barcelona, that’s the information I have.” Wenger’s comments suggest that he still keeps a close eye on his former player which raises the question of will he bring Cesc back to the Emirates, next summer?

Fabregas was last seen in the red and white jersey of Arsenal back in 2011 before deciding to continue his footballing career back in Spain, at his boyhood club, Barcelona. But after finding it difficult to pin down a regular first team position and now with the arrival of Neymar, adding to the current overwhelming talent of the Barcelona midfield, Fabregas may be looking to pursue his career elsewhere.

With this in mind, would Fabregas opt to link up with former team-mate Robin Van Persie, at United – a move that would horror all Arsenal fans, especially after watching the Dutchman do the dirty on the club? Or, would Cesc prefer a move back to Arsenal to play alongside compatriot Santi Cazorla? Furthermore, could there be additional parties, who show interest in signing Fabregas when his future undergoes certain scrutiny in one-year’s time.
